The book traces the drama and the grandeur of Hellenism, through the story of this Greek refugee woman who, despite all the knocks of fate, stands up, continues to dream and builds her future. The author describes life in the lost motherland of Asia Minor, and the drama of being a refugee on Lesbos. The historical developments that sealed Greek history during the 20th century until the fall of the dictatorship in Greece, are described in vivid detail.
